Who is the orange cap holder in the 2024 IPL?

Virat Kohli is still the leading run-scorer of IPL 2024, having made 316 runs in his five games for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, including the first hundred of the season, against Rajasthan Royals. Kohli has also scored two half-centuries, the same as Riyan Parag of Royals, who has 185 runs and is second on the run-scorers' table. Royals' captain Sanju Samson is third, with 178 in four games. Heinrich Klaasen of Sunrisers Hyderabad is fourth, with 177 runs, and Shubman Gill of Gujarat Titans fifth with 164. Jos Buttler has the only other hundred of the season so far, made off the very last ball of the same match that Kohli scored his century in.

Abhishek Sharma of Sunrisers Hyderabad, who made a blazing 37 off 12 balls in his team's win over Chennai Super Kings on Friday, has the highest strike rate among the top ten batters at 217.56.

Yuzvendra Chahal of Rajasthan Royals, who took two wickets in their victory over RCB, bumped Chennai Super Kings seamer Mustafizur Rahman down to second place with eight wickets at an economy of 6.35 to Mustafizur's seven wickets at an economy rate of 8.83 from three games. Four of those seven wickets came in the season's opening game, which CSK won by six wickets.

Gujarat Titans medium-pacer Mohit Sharma also has seven wickets, but from four games, and an economy of 8.18. In fourth place is Lucknow Super Giants' 21-year-old express pace bowler Mayank Yadav, who repeatedly topped 150kph in the win over RCB this week, with six wickets from two games at an economy of 5.12. Seamers Khaleel Ahmed (Delhi Capitals), Nandre Burger (RR) and Kagiso Rabada (Punjab Kings) also have six wickets each.

Five other fast bowlers have five wickets each: Kolkata Knight Riders' Andre Russell and Harshit Rana; Trent Boult of Rajasthan Royals; Yash Dayal of RCB; and Pat Cummins, the SRH captain.
